There was a post in here a while back about a Mars colony game based on Colonization. I also have a personal gripe with the compulsory use of an automated "private sector" for logistics which really doesn't fit well with a lot of my play styles (WTF would I have a private sector if I'm a centrally planned dictatorship?). Colonization, but I had forgotten it existed. There is Distant Worlds: Universe, which is a good game, but has issues, primarily being that it's a pain in the ass to get running on Win10. ![]() What I really wish there was is a Col style game in space (that does proper resource management and logistics instead of abstracting it away). ![]() There are a few deliberate incompatibilities with Col1 gameplay (which we prefer to think of as bugfixes), but in general, if Col1 did it and FreeCol does not, that is a bug and we are keen to hear about it. There's not really anything out there that truly captures the play style of the Colonization games (4x with resource micromanagement and logistics).
